For years and years I was such a cardio queen, running miles either outside or on the treadmill and I used to think no way am I lifting weights and getting myself bulky. You may be reading this and thinking exactly the same.  It turns out I was wrong for so many years.

Ladies of South West London we need to be picking up those weights and these are the reasons why:

– It’s going to tone and change the shape of your body. If you want rid of those bingo wings, jelly thighs and cellulite, then weights are going to be your new best friend.

– Weight training will tone your muscles making you look tight and sexy. You won’t build your muscles up to look bulky and the main reason for this is women don’t have the male hormone testosterone.

– Weight training is going to increase the lean muscle you have on your body the more lean muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be so your be turning your body into a fat burning machine.

– Being women we are a higher risk of osteoporosis ( weakening in the bones) approximately one in two women over the age 50 will break a bone because of it. Lifting weights Can help prevent this It will help to stimulate the osteoblast to increase the bone density.

The great thing I love about weight training is after you have trained your body carries on burning fat, yes you don’t get that with cardio!
