Firstly, I would like to apologise and say sorry I have not written a blog for ages. I have definitely been neglecting blogging. Today I am going write about protein, how much you should eat and why it is good for, especially if you want to lose weight.

I am doing more of an in-depth course on nutrition as food, and how it effects the body, really amazes me.  I have found it very interesting over the last week as I have been reading about protein.

How much protein do you eat? How much do you think you should eat? What if I told you that at every meal you should be eating protein, even breakfast!  Firstly what is your typical breakfast? Cereal ? Toast? Nothing??? Mine has  always been porridge or weetabix, something quick as I do not have a lot of time. However, come 10-11 clock I would be feeling hungry. Eating protein at breakfast makes such a difference, I’ve started eating some protein at breakfast now if i have time i make scrambled or poached eggs with avocado on some rye bread, if not i will just boil an egg to eat as the same time as my porridge and guess what? i am full until lunch time. Start eating protein at breakfast and see how you feel.

Maybe you are asking yourself what is Protein. Here is a list of good protein to eat:-

Eggs, Chicken Breast, Turkey Breast, Turkey Mince, Beef Steak Lean, Beef Sirloin Lean, Beef Mince Lean,  Tuna, Veal, Cooked Salmon, Cooked Trout, Cod, Prawns, Pork Chops, Peanut Butter,

Protein really helps you lose weight as it will keep you full and you will feel less likely to snack in-between meals, how the body digest protein is completely different to how it digest fat and carbs. If we over eat on protein it does not turn it to fat yes you read it right You can eat more protein than the body requires and the body will not store it to fat no all it does you get rid of as waste or sweat it out! So now you can see why eating protein at every meal is good for you.
